NEW COLLECTION OF PAINTINGS BY KARL
ERIK HARR
Starting in summer 2018, Reine Centre of Arts and Culture has the
pleasure of presenting a permanent exhibition of the paintings of Karl
Erik Harr.
These include older and more recent works where he portrays the mighty
countryside of Nordland and his own experiences and impressions from
the Lofoten Islands. Throughout his long life, Karl Erik Harr has been
interested in the significance of the Lofoten Fishery for both
Northern Norway and the country as a whole.
Furthermore, he has published a variety of books about nature and
experiences from his many travels around this part of the country.
The sea is of major importance in his pictorial universe, a fact which
comes to light in this magnificent collection.
From July 2018 some of his graphic art will also be exhibited in the
gallery. This will be a sales exhibition.
We envision a new era at Reine Centre of Arts and Culture, where
siblings Eva and Karl Erik display their paintings and graphic art and
their own individual approaches to the northern landscape.
